Coach Tomek's Summary:
The Bulldogs traveled to Elk Grove to faceoff against the Wildcats. Gavin Avila would start on the bump for the Dawgs. He would throw 5 innings, give up five runs, two of them being earned. He would fan five Cats and walk three.
Gavin pitched awesome for us, he kept us in it all five innings. Our defense let us down a little, giving up three errors. This was a game of who could make fewer mistakes and we lost that battle. Lane Wortham would come in for 9 pitches and shut them down in order.
In a game like today we have to play mistake free baseball and be able to manufacture runs when the opportunity arises. We did not do a good job of that today. We hit the ball hard a bunch but it just so happened that there would be a fielder there to catch the ball or make a play.
We will get back to work and learn from this game and be better later on down the road. Our team battled all game long and for that I am proud of them!

Coaches Game Notes:
Lane Wortham started on the bump for the Dawgs. In the first Lane would challenge the Pokes and get a ground out and two fly outs in ten pitches.
The Dawgs would come up in the bottom part of the inning swinging. Lane and Noah Richardson would scorch two balls into center but with a 25-30 mph wind blowing they would end up as outs. Any other day those are stand up doubles. Brock Montgomery would get a nice base hit in the inning but it wouldn’t result in a run.
In the next inning Lane would walk the first batter but got the next batter to ground into a double play. The next batter would fly out to center field. The Bulldogs would get on the board in the bottom
half of the inning.
Gavin Avila would be hit by a pitch and Izzy Galicia put down a great bunt to get him to second. Shaun Bunch would single moving Gavin to third. Unfortuantely, Gavin would be questionably thrown out at third on a first and third play by the Pokes. The next batter, Big Ben Diaz, would double scoring Bunch from second. The iinning would end with a strikeout of the next batter.
Lane would continue to roll striking out two in the third and getting a ground out to third.
Lukas Nairn would lead off the third with a single. Lane would lay down an amazing bunt moving the runner but the throw would be just in time to get a speedy Lane at first. With a couple wild pitches Nairn would end up scoring the Dawgs second run to go up 2-0.
The fourth is when the legs would fall off the Dawgs. After a few errors and a few timely hits the Pokes would go up 3-2 on us and take the momentum. Lanes day would come to an end due to pitch count. He would end with 4 innings pitched 3 runs 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Our defense really didn’t help him out and he could of very well pitched deep into the game.
Tracy would come up in the next inning and lay an egg with a couple ground balls and a strikeout.
Dylan Ibarra would come in for the Dawgs. Livermore would ride there momentum and capitalize on Tracy’s mistakes. In the top of the fifth the Pokes would plate 4 runs on Tracy errors, hit batsmen and timely hits. The score would wind up 7-2 after the dust settled.
The Dawgs weren’t going down without a fight. Cruz Melton would lead us off with a single followed by another single by Nairn. Wortham would be hit by a pitch loading the bases with no outs. Brock would come up and hit a sacrifice fly scoring Cruz while both runners would advance. Noah Richardson came up next with a ground ball scoring Lukas and moving Lane to third. Ronin Medina came up next and was hit by a pitch. Ronin would but in motion with a hit and run and Izzy Galicia would come up clutch with a nice single to right scoring Lane. The score was now 7-5 in favor of the visitors.
The sixth would be quiet for both teams. No one could gain any ground on the other. The seventh is when the magic would happen.
The Pokes would be unable to add to their lead which would be very costly for them.
In the bottom of the seventh Lane and Brock would square up two balls right at the the left fielder. With two outs the Dawgs dug deep. Noah would be hit by a pitch and Ronin would walk. Both runners would advance on a wild pitch. Two outs runners at 2nd and 3rd, Izzy would put the bat on the ball and Livermore shortstop would make a costly error allowing Noah and Ronin to score tying the game at 7 a piece. Izzy would move to second on a steal and set the stage for the Dawgs. Big Ben Diaz would single with two strikes walking the game off and adding another W in the win to the record.
The boys didn’t play well today but we showed again in the face or adversity, they play until the final out. For that, I am extremely proud of them. We need to clean up some things on the bases and defensively. Once we do that this team will dominate.

COACHES GAME SUMMARY:
The Bulldogs travelled into deep Sacramento to face off against the Bella Vista Broncos. The Broncos would send their ace out against us. The tall righty would shut the Bulldogs down in order to.
Noah Richardson would start the game for the Dawgs. Noah would sit the first two Broncos down in order. Their three hitter would get a decent hit up the middle but it would be for nothing because Noah would get a ground out to Dylan Ibarra to end the inning.
In the top of the second Brock Montgomery would draw a tough walk and Gavin Avila would move him over with a well executed bunt. The next batter Ronin Medina, would take an 85mph fastball off the hip and take his base. We would do a double steal next and unfortunately fall victim to having one umpire and be called out at second while Brock was rounding third to score.
The Broncos would be sent back to the dugout in order by Richardson.
The Broncos pitcher would start really grooving and struck out the side.
In the 3rd, the Broncos would throw the first punch. Noah struck out the first batter but walked the next. That runner would end up stealing and scoring on a hit just outside of the glove of shortstop Lukas Nairn. Noah would get a ground ball from the next batter and ending the inning. Broncos took a 1-0 lead.
The Bella Vista pitcher would remain in his groove striking out Tracy’s first two batters, Brock would draw another walk but it would be for nothing because we would strike out to end the inning.
The fourth for both sides would end up being extremely quick and quiet with both the Broncos and Dawgs being retired in order.
In the bottom of the 5th the Broncos would hit a ground ball that the Dawgs would boot. The next batter would end up hitting a single and now there was runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. Noah would get two ground balls one to Nairn which threw the runner out at home and one to Dylan Ibarra and he would have to go to first allowing 1 run to score. Noah would work out of his jam and get a pop up to Nairn at short. Broncos up 2-0.
In the top of the 6th the Dawgs starting throwing their own punches. Lane would work a walk. Lukas Nairn would hit a great double on a hit and run scoring Lane from first. Noah Richardson would come up next and single to 3rd scoring Nairn from 2nd and moving to 2nd on the throw. Noah would move to 3rd on a wild pitch. A batter later with two outs Noah was able to score standing up on a perfect dirt ball read. Dawgs took the lead and were now up 3-2.
Noah would return to the mound and record two outs but had to be removed due to pitch count. Noah ended his outing with 5.2 innings pitched, 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned, 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.
Tino Contreras would come in for relief with a runner at second. The runner would move to third on a wild pitch and try scoring on another one but catcher Ronin Medina made a hustle play throwing back to Tino covering the plate to record the final out!
In the top of the 7th Ronin would single along with Benjamin Diaz. Dawgs would have one out two on and would read a flare wrong and be doubled up to end the inning!
Tino would go back out and slam the door on the Broncos earning his first save!
That starter the Broncos put out there was the real deal. Mid 80’s fastball with a great mix of off speed. The boys got punched in the mouth and responded. It was a really chippy game but the boys kept the main thing the main thing. They faced adversity all game and never gave up! I'm very happy and proud of the way the boys fought until the very end!

Coach Tomek's Postgame Report
Lane Wortham was on the bump us Friday. In the first inning Lane would make quick work of Skyline setting them down in order. The Bulldogs would come out swinging when Lukas Nairn would lead off the game with a double. Lane would walk setting up two runners on with no outs! Unfortunately, we could not scratch a run across due to a bad read on a steal and two fly outs to center.
Lane would start off where he finished the first with a huge strikeout. The next batter would reach on an error and would eventually score after two singles by Skyline. Lane would end up getting out of the inning but Skyline was up 1-0.
I as a coach preach winning every inning and the Dawgs would do just that. Brock Montgomery would lead us off in the second with a big single to left. Brock would end up moving to second on an error. The next batter Brayden Ibarra would come up with a huge double to center. Brock would come around to score on the double. A few batters later Hector Zelaya would hit a line drive to left field scoring Brayden.
The rest of the game was spent as a pitchers duel. Lane would end up throwing 6.2 innings 3 hits 1 unearned run 3 walks and 10 k’s Brock Montgomery would come in to close out the game for the final out.
Today was a battle, first game we didn’t score first and collect a bunch of runs. It was a gritty, bend but don’t break type of game. I am super proud of the boys for staying in it and competing until the final out! Lane pitched his tail off and we just could not string together hits to break this thing open. Overall I'm extremely proud of the team for grinding and keeping the main thing the main thing!

Coaches Postgame Report:
We got things going early in the first with Luckas Nairn’s single and Lane Wortham drawing a crucial walk. This set the stage for Noah Richardson to come up with a clutch base hit to right field scoring Nairn and Wortham. Gavin Avila would come up right after with a line drive hit to left moving Noah to third. Dylan Ibarra would end up hitting a ground ball scoring Noah and moving Gavin to third. A passed ball would plate Gavin and make the score 4-0 Dawgs
.
Dylan Ibarra would start on the mound for us. Dylan would end up walking the first batter of the game but shortly after, catcher Brayden Ibarra would gun him down at first. Dylan would go on to strike out the remaining two batters.
The next inning the Tigers would walk the first three Dawgs of the inning. That would not end well with the heart of our line up coming through with clutch hitting and scoring multiple runs. Brayden and Gavin would both single in the inning scoring runs. After that Noah would hit into a fielder choice scoring a run as well making the score 7-0 Dawgs. Tracy would scratch across 3 more runs via walks and passed balls.
Dylan would continue to pitch strong in the bottom of the second not allowing a run.
The third was quiet for the Dawgs but they still managed to get on base and score another run making the score 11-0.
In the third the Tigers would have there best inning on offense against us. They managed a couple hits and with runners at the corners, we would balk in the only run of the game to make it 11-1 heading into the fourth.
Dylan pitched amazing going 3 IP, 4 hits 1 earned Run 1 walk and 6 K’s.
In the fourth the Bulldogs would come out swinging after a walk by Dylan, Jakob Gates and Izzy Galicia would smoke two balls loading up the bases. Nairn would single scoring one and Carlos Franco worked a walk to score the final run of the game! At this point leading 13-1 Caleb McCabe would come in to pitch for the Bulldogs. In 8 pitches Caleb got all three outs including a strikeout. The next three Bulldogs at the plate would end up hitting balls right at people making the 5th innings a quick one.
Gavin Avila would come in to close the game out for Tracy. After two quick outs, the Tigers would try and scratch their way back with two singles. Patterson’s runner was cut down by a perfect relay from Tracy’s defense which would result in a rundown. Dylan Ibarra now catching would dive and tag the runner out for the third and final out of the ball game.
The team is really starting to find their identity. We are a team that is going to constantly find ways to put runs on the board and our pitchers compete every pitch.
This win was a total team win with everyone contributing in some way or another. We are beginning to relax and loosen up cutting back on costly errors. I cannot wait to see where we are in a months time! "GO DAWGS," said Coach Tomek.

We appreciate the very detailed coaches report below that enhances this website.
The Freshmen Bulldogs were back at making things happen but this time in North Stockton at Bear Creek High. In the top of the first Brock Montgomery and Brayden Ibarra drew crucial walks with two outs. Noah Richardson and Gavin Avila came up clutch with two hard singles to right field. The Dogs led 3-0 going into the bottom half of the 1st.
Lane Wortham started on the hill for the Tracy and got three ground balls in a row but unfortunately a little of the first game jitters carried over to the first inning of this game. "The Bruins would end up getting a clutch single to left field scoring two and one passed ball tied things up. Lane would pitch out of it and get us back in to it," said Coach Tomek.
.
Cruz Melton led things off in the second with a double to deep center. After a couple of walks and a clutch hitting by Wortham, the Bulldogs would be up 5-3. Ibarra would come up big hitting a laser to center and scoring Wortham. A couple more walks would transpire and then Ben Diaz would have a big hit scoring two runs and making the score 10-3. Lane would settle in and pitch shutout baseball in the third. Lane would finish with 3 IP, 3 hits, 3 unearned runs, 0 walks and 6 K’s.
In the fourth the Bulldogs would scratch one more across when Gavin Avila hit a hard single to right and would eventually score after an error and passed ball.
Tino Contreras would come in for the Bulldogs and pitch shutout baseball for the remainder of the game.
In the final inning on offense for the Dawgs Shaun Bunch would lead off with a base hit up the middle. Brock Montgomery would hit an absolute nuke to center scoring Bunch wrapping up the scoring for the Dogs!
Tino would go out there one more time and slam the door on the Bruins! Tino would finish the game with 2 IP, no runs, no hits 3 walks and 5 punch outs. The game would be called due to time and the Bulldogs would move to a record of 2-0 with a 12-3 win over the Bruins.
The Dogs ended up with 9 hits and Gavin Avila led them while going 2-2 with 2 RBI’s and 1 walk. "This team can bang with the best of them. We apply pressure early and do not ever take the foot off the gas. The team is really coming together and have the next up mentality. It was a total team win with everyone contributing in one way or another. Again, we just need to clean up the little things! This team is special and I can’t wait to watch them grow together," said a very satisfied Coach Tomek.

Coaches Game Summary:
The Bulldogs applied the pressure early forcing Oakdale to make errors to get Tracy runners on base. Noah Richardson came up with two runners on and doubled to score two runs. In the bottom half of the inning Brock Montgomery led the Bulldogs on the bump. He got off to a rocky start in the 1st due to some first game nerves. He would walk the bases loaded and eventually surrendered a run. Brock started to settle down and got a fly ball with the bases loaded that got called for the Infield Fly. Some heads up play by catcher Gavin Avila and Tino Contreras led to the third out at the plate with a runner trying to advance on the Infield Fly.
The 2nd inning was quiet with no runners making it safely as Brock ended up punching out the side.
In the third, things got interesting. The Bulldogs applied pressure hitting balls in play and Oakdale made some costly mistakes. Tracy pushed two more runs across making the score 4-1. Oakdale would keep fighting and applied a bit of their own pressure forcing the Bulldogs to make three of their own costly errors. Oakdale would generate 3 runs to tie the ball game. Brock would finish off the inning and his day on the mound giving up 1 earned run, 3 unearned runs, 5 walks, and 5 strikeouts.
The 4th inning was quiet with both teams not reaching safely. Dylan Ibarra came in to pitch for the Bulldogs and slammed the door on a great Oakdale offense.
In the 5th the Mustangs continued to make costly mistakes and the Bulldogs scratched one run across.
In the 6th it was a pitchers duel as no runs were scored.
In the 7th, Lane Wortham worked a walk and stole second base to get the party started. Gavin Avila came up with a big hit to score Lane from 2nd base. Gavin moved to 2nd on the throw from the right fielder. Noah Richardson came up next with a huge double in the gap scoring Gavin and ultimately sealing the game for the Dogs.
Dyland Ibarra stayed in the game for the final half inning as he struck out the first batter, then walked the seconds. With a runner at first and 1 out, Dylan got the batter to line out to Cruz Melton. Cruz then trhew a strike to Ben Diaz at first to end the game on a double play. Ibarra would end the game with 4 innings pitched, 1 hit, 0 runs, 3 walks and 6 strikeouts.
"As a Coach, it is always good to get the first one out of the way and get the nerves out. We played an amazing game and just have to fine tune the small things. It was a great overall team win for the Dogs" said Coach Tomek.

Coach Tomek's Postgame Comments:
"What an odd feeling stepping on the Linden High Baseball field wearing the green and gold," said Coach Tomek who played for Linden and graduated in 2008. "I’d be lying if I didn’t get a little emotional. I went up to every one of my guys and let them know I want this one."
"My guy Alex Montenegro started for us and did what he has all year long and shove! Five innings of shutout ball! His team had his back when they did put the ball in play. Makai Sibayan shut down the run game early throwing out every single runner. Eli McKeon had some awesome shortstop play and set up a pick to second beautifully."
"Logan Taylor stepped in the leadoff spot for us and did his job getting on base. Makai Sibayan destroyed a ball into left for a homer. McKeon, Taylor, Brandon and Maas sprayed the ball all over the yard and really got the job done. Big Mason Sander just missed a big fly of his own."
""It was an all around team W and we were firing on ALL cylinders! The boys showed up to play today and now we have Liberty at our place on Friday, and then we will roll this momentum into a big series against Saint Mary's to start league!"

Tracy could only produce 2 runs on 5 hits, and stranded 8 runners. They committed 4 errors in Monday's loss at Amador Valley.
Coaches Report 3-2-26
"The Bulldogs traveled to Amador Valley after a dominate win Friday. NJ started us off with a shot to right for a double. The next three batters would pop up to end the inning."
"The Dawgs battled some defensive woes all game and had a series of “Freshman” mistakes that led to an early 2-0 deficit. We would end up clawing back within one run on some defensive miscues by Amador Valley and a couple timely hits. Unfortunately, the first would not be the only inning where we would struggle defensively. I never felt like we were out matched but a few things didn’t fall our way and I felt our energy and life blow away."
"Pitchers Stevo, Koa and Alex all pitched pretty good for the most part. I’m sure there are a couple of spots they want back but they kept us close the entire game."
"We ended up stranding 8 runners on the base paths and that just won’t win you games. I felt we hit the ball extremely hard all day and a lot of them just found gloves."
"It was just a weird game all together, but I also think it was good for this group. They know what it is like to be in a Dog Fight early before we enter our super competitive league play. We have some stuff to clean up and some things to iron out. Once we get these things tightened up, this team is going to be extremely good!"

With good starting pitching being delivered by Nicholas Gutierrez, the Bulldog bats went to work quickly and took a lead they would never come close to giving up. The middle of the Tracy lineup accounted for 9 of the 16 hits in the game. Eli McKeon lead the offense with a 4-5 day collecting 4RBIs, 5 runs scored, and 3 stolen bases. Makai Sibayan had a 3 hit day with 3RBIs, 3 runs scored, a double and a stolen base. J'quhal Jaden Jackson was 2-4 with 3RBIs, and 3 bags stolen.
After Gutierrez left the game allowing only 1 run through 4 innings, Logan Taylor and Koa Maas came in for relief and kept things in check allowing the Bulldogs to win it in 6 innings.
"We started the game pretty slow, " said Coach Tomek. "I felt we were trying to do too much early on in the game instead of our typical approach of getting people on, getting them over, and finally getting them in. We battled some outside adversity having to change fields and never really warming up properly. Once we got it going though, there was no turning us back."
"The Dawgs were lead with big days from McKeon and Sibayan. Together they had 7 hits with 7 RBI’s. The boys in total collected 16 hits and once again great team effort."
"NJ Gutierrez started for us on the bump. He was really efficient early cruising through the first couple innings. The last two we tried getting too fine and ended up throwing a couple more pitches than we had to. Still a very dominate performance from him! Koa Maas would come in to slam the door and complete the run rule."
"The game finished 16-4 and we dominated all areas of the game. Some defensive stuff we have been working on, was executed to perfection. I'm proud of how the boys overcame adversity and got the W in dominate fashion."
The Freshman Dogs are now 3-0 and will travel to Amador Valley HS on Monday for their only game next week.

Coach Tomek's Game Log:
The Bulldogs traveled to Mountain House to take on the Mustangs. The offense got rolling and never looked back. NJ got a nice hit up the middle and the shortstop made a nice play but NJ’s speed was too much and forced a wild throw. Steven Olson would draw a walk next. Both would score on Makai Sibayan infield single. Like NJ, Makai's blazing speed forced a Mustang error and would make his way to third. JJ Jackson would drive him in with a hard ground ball to the right side.
Alex Montenegro would take the mound for the Dawgs. Alex would have to work through a bit of nerves after walking the lead off hitter. After that he would get a huge punch out, along with a ground ball and fly ball after giving up a single to strand two Mustangs on the base paths.
Top 2nd: Mason Sander would lead us off with a walk and steal second. Will Brandon making his debut would come up clutch with a laser through the six hole. With runners at first and third, NJ would execute a perfect hit and run scoring Mason and moving Will to third. Will would steal home on a first and third double steal.
Alex back on the mound ended up walking the lead off batter on a close 3-2 pitch but it wouldn’t matter because he ended up striking out the side in order.
Top 3rd: JJ Jackson would double on a fly ball to right and steal third. Alex worked a walk to leave the Dawgs in another first and third situation. Mason would hit an absolute missile to right. Joc would come around to score leaving runners at first and second. Alex would steal home but Sander would be thrown out at third trying to go first to third on a sleeping Mustang defense.
Alex came out fired up striking out the leadoff batter. He would relax a bit and end up walking two batters on deep counts. Alex would end up settling down striking out one and getting a ground ball to strand two more Mustang base runners. Due to it being early in the season and pitch count becoming a factor, Alex would be done for the day. Alex finished with: 3IP, 1H, 0R , 4BB, and 6 punch outs.
Top 4th: This inning would be the only time the Dawgs would take the foot off the gas and go down in order.
Santiago Diaz Rivera would come in to pitch for the Bulldogs. Santi would strike out the first batter but have to battle through some mechanical issues after hitting two batters and a couple Bulldog errors. The Mustangs would push across their first run after the blunders but Santi would settle in and get a ground out and fly ball.
Top 5th: JJ and Makai would stay hot both singling. Santi would bit behind the runners scoring Makai and JJ would use his speed and score on a passed ball. Bulldogs would end the inning up 9-1.
Santi would return to the mound for the Bulldogs. The Mustangs would put together some pressure after getting two base hits. Mountain House would score their second and final run after a fielders choice. Santi would strike out the next batter and end the inning with a pop out to third baseman Taylor.
Top 6th: Taylor started the inning with a walk and Will would get a nice base hit behind him. NJ would hit into a fielders choice but with all the speed, the Dawgs would not have an out recorded. Taylor would score on a passed ball and Makai would come up with a nice single scoring Brandon and NJ.
Koa Maas would enter the game on the mound to close out the game for the Dawgs. Koa would make short work out of the Mustangs with a weak come backer and two punch outs to end the game to based on the Run Rule.
"With a weird week of practice indoors I was very impressed with how we took care of business," said Coach Tomek. "This team is selfless and will do whatever it takes to score runs. I think each game defensively we are getting better. As soon as the sun comes out and we are able to work through some defensive stuff at practice this team will be even more dangerous. I'm proud of my pitching staff as all have come in and competed at a high level and worked well through any adversity! I'm excited to get back to work."

Coach Tomek Game Summary and Comments:
The Freshman Bulldogs started their 2026 campaign at home against Bear Creek.
Steven Olson was the starter for the Dawgs. There were some nerves and some excitement the hurler endured in the first inning. Olson would walk the first batter and we would make an error on great bunt by the 2 hole for Bear Creek. Frustration boiled over and after a wild pitch Bear Creek would go up a run on a wild pitch and he would end up hitting that batter. Bear Creek would load the bases after a bloop single to left. Olson had enough and settled in nicely and got the next batter to ground into a double play. Steven would strike out the next batter looking on a perfect pitch.
The Dawgs would come up in the bottom of the first trailing by one. The lead would not last long after walks by Steven Olson and Eli McKeon, Makai Sibayan would come up with one out runners at second and third and hit a scorcher to center field scoring Olson and tying the game. Mckeon would score on a passed ball and the Tracy would take the lead and never look back.
In the top of the second Olson would make quick work of the Bruins, striking out one and getting two weak grounders to catcher Makai Sibayan and second baseman J’quhal Jaden Jackson.
In the bottom of the second the Dawgs would put it on the Bruins. Logan Taylor would lead off the inning hammering a line drive to center field. Taylor would use his wheels and steal second and third and eventually score on a pass ball. Tracy would load the bases after Koa Maas would be hit by a pitch and Montenegro and Olson would walk. Koa scores on a wild pitch and McKeon would single and drive in Montenegro and Olson. Sibayan next up stays hot while hitting another scorcher this time to left. Jackson would be hit by a pitch and just like that Tracy has the bases loaded again. NJ Guiterrez would clear the bases with a double to right center field. Bruins would end up getting out of the inning but the damage was done. Dawgs up 9-1
After the big inning, Tracy seemed to relax a little to much and would cost them 7 runs. Physical and mental errors consumed the dawgs making it a one run ball game. Olsons day would come to an end due to coaches’ pre-determined pitch limit. He would finish with 2 innings pitched, 2 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. “I think Steven pitched well despite the numbers. I think he got an early taste of HS baseball and how to deal with adversity. Steven has a great live arm with a nasty arsenal.”
NJ Gutierrez would come in to pitch for the Bulldogs.
In the bottom of the third a bit of the shock of the previous half inning lingered with the Dawgs. The Bruins would get back into the dugout with no hits and no runs.
NJ would settle in to his second inning of work. Striking out three bruins and walking two.
The Bulldogs would put their foot back on the gas in the bottom of the fourth. Mason Sander lead us off with a walk, and J’quhal Jaden would hit a nuke to center one hopping the fence. Taylor would end up drawing a walk and Koa Maas would drive in JJ and move Taylor into scoring position. Olson would come up with a clutch hit scoring one and McKeon would hit a hard ground ball scoring another Bulldog run. Bulldogs up 14-8!
NJ continued his day by getting the next three Bruins to fly out in order. The game would be called at this point for insufficient light. and the Bulldogs come away with a home opener win in dominant fashion.
With only having a couple weeks of practice and winter sport athletes just getting to come out, I thought we did pretty well. I knew there would be nerves and jitters we had to get out but they overcame adversity and came away with the “Dub”! I am very happy to see how we responded to some silly errors and mental mistakes we made. This team is special; they have a lot of tools. We just need to put our head down and get to work to straighten up the little things. There are big things to come from the Freshman Bulldogs!!!
